One of my first explorations of color, Light Like a Feather, took an unexpected turn that led to its final form. I began the piece with precision—carefully drawing each frond, one by one, in a clean and controlled manner. But after setting it aside for a few weeks, I returned to it with a sudden burst of spontaneity. I poured ink over the trees and ran the artwork under a sink faucet, letting the water distort and soften the image. The result was a loose, ethereal feel that captured something more fluid and emotional than I had originally anticipated.
